Rejoice Evermore

Derek Morris is a pastor and colleague whom I really respect. He has written a book called Radical Protection (http://www.radicalprotection.com) in which he tells the story of a woman who was being harassed by demonic forces. This was an educated woman, a professional in her field. But, she didn't know how to deal with the spiritual attack she was experiencing in her own home. So, she came to Derek asking for help.

In response to the woman's request, Derek gave her a CD of scripture songs by his wife Bodil. He told the woman to play these songs in her home and sing along with them. It wasn't long before the demonic harassment stopped and there was peace in her heart and home once again.

Rejoice Evermore is a Scripture song I wrote during family worship one morning. It is taken from 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 which says, "Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 NAS95).

This is a great song to teach your kids because it teaches three practical ways for them to experience God's blessing in there lives. These three spiritual skills are: Constant Rejoicing, Constant Prayer, and Giving Thanks in Every Circumstance.

If we will invite God's Spirit to strengthen us to rejoice always, to pray without ceasing, and to give thanks in every circumstance, than we will find ourselves in the center of His will, and guarded when the enemy attacks!

Verse:
Rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing
In everything give thanks, in everything give thanks

Chorus:
For this is the will of God,
This is the will of God
For this is the will of God
In Christ Jesus Concerning You

Bridge:
And when it rains, when it pours
Rejoice, Rejoice ever more (2x)
And when it rains, when it pours,
Rejoice, and again I say rejoice
And again I say, rejoice evermore
And when it rains, when it pours
Rejoice, Rejoice ever more
When it rains….

  1. The word Beatitudes means exalted happiness and Jesus discourse clearly shows a progressive stair-step that will lead to happiness
